What is a cervical screening test, also known as a “Smear Test”?

The test checks the health of the opening of the womb; the cervix. It is not a test for cancer but by checking we can detect HPV which is a virus that can cause cervical cancer.

You will have a screening done every 3-5 years depending on your age.

If you have any further questions, you may ask our nurse when you attend for your appointment.
